Oktoberfest Checklist

September 29, 2021

Now that you decided to kick off your October right with música, bier, and great company, we’ve provided a step by step guide to assure you the best Oktoberfest experience possible!

What should I wear?

The traditional outfits for Oktoberfest are the lederhosen and dirndls. These signature looks are perfect when paired with a stein full of bier. And if you don’t have one, don’t worry! Still come out in whatever you’re most comfortable with and grab a pint.

Prost Practice

Here’s a classic chant used during traditional Oktoberfest festivities. Very often, Ein Prosit is followed by the simple toast, “Oans, zwoa, drei, gsuffa!”, which means, “one, two, three, drink”.

Ein Prosit song lyrics

Ein Prosit, ein Prosit
Der Gemütlichkeit
Ein Prosit, ein Prosit
Der Gemütlichkeit

What does it mean in English?

Prosit is the conjunctive of the Latin word prodesse and means “may it be beneficial” or roughly “be well”. The word is the origin of the German prost.

Gemütlichkeit depicts a state of well-being, warmth, and friendliness.

Altogether, the phrase “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit“ means something like, “a toast to well-being”.

What’s the weather going to be like?

We anticipate the weather to consist mostly of sunny, blue skies. So be prepared for 80 degree weather with a chance of, “LETS DRINK MORE BIER!”

What time should I arrive?

The event will last from 1-7pm, so we recommend that you arrive early for better chances of getting a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy. Due to high demand, it may be difficult to get a desirable seat so the sooner you arrive, the better!

What’s on the menu?

We will be updating the food and beverage offerings, standby!

PROST, SALUD, CHEERS!
